Well I didnt find a better place to post this question so I m doing it here.
Particularly I had created my profile and then I was trying to change my avatar (I didnt select one when I was registering), and the system started displaying some DataBase Err Mesasges.
I ased another person to change it for me but she had the same problems. Did anybody else have problems changing avatars? If so, how did you solve em?

This does occur from time to time especially when UVA is upgrading their system.

I suggest you try again few days later.

Still not working.

Another question: It is only allowed to upload 80x80 avatars, but I noticed that some are much bigger (especialy the sys admins'). I hate those big avatars because they slow down my browsing and clutter the screen. Can something be done about that?

While we're at it, animated gifs should be disallowed as well.

(And I definitely wouldn't mind unanimating the emoticons as well, though they're small enough to be bearable.)

Somewhere around the limit. :)

Naturally, you are free to use any kind of animations you wish, but since (IMHO) it is very annoying to read when there's some big animated gif nearby, it is less likely that I will read your posts if you use one. But there are a lot of other users of this board who probably will read them, so this shouldn't bother you much.
