Judge is down?

Post by 10098 »

Hi guys,
seems like the judge at icpcres.baylor.edu is down. I've submitted a problem and it is still stuck in the judge queue. Hope you'll fix it soon.

Now it says "This site is temporarily unavailable. Please notify the System Administrator." How long will it take to fix this? :(

We're all technical folks here. Naturally the question which we're interested in: "why the judge is down?". What technical problems prevent judge from running smoothly? Is it a bug somewhere? If yes, what kind of? Is is the architecture of the system which is causing the problem due to huge amount of requests?

I've noticed that the performance of a website varies in time. One day it is very fast. The other day it is slow (like around 4-5 second for a page to load). Then again it may be nearly dead (more than a minute for a page to load). What is causing this variance of performance? Please let us know, maybe we could come up with solutions and the community itself could improve the website?

I understand that people working with the judge must be praised for such enthusiastic activity. Let us help you if you don't have enough time. The problem with judge is here about half of a year. It always crashes, then fixed. At least let us know what is the problem causing that?

Although the website is very smooth right now, but there are tons of submissions stuck in queue.
Have you ever...
  • Wanted to work at best companies?
  • Struggled with interview problems that could be solved in 15 minutes?
  • Wished you could study real-world problems?
If so, you need to read Elements of Programming Interviews.
