I would appreciate that too! What about gray for untried problems? (green=AC, yellow=PE, red=WA,etc. gray=not tried). Or you could make errors other than WA blue, to conform to the judge status window colors.

If I add grey for untried problems, users with a few of them solved will have to download a HUGE web everytime they want to see their statistics. Anyway, it's not a bad idea, Maybe I'll add another mode (not the default one) with grey problems on it.

About problem with the colors....I changed status page a few days ago and I forgot this page colors. I've added the blue veredict.

Maybe make it that untried problems don't show by default, so you have to change something in your profile in order for them to be seen? It makes sense not to have them (if you tried only a few) or to have them (if you tried close to 2000 problems)

Btw, I liked the "recently solved" feature, it never blinked for me (I use Opera), was it supposed to? Maybe allow users to sort their tired problems by different columns (default by problem number)?

And - that old user info is really old, I am still from Bangladesh on that one :)

Ok, all user statistics are available now. You can change from one to the other using the links at the bottom of the page.

I don't know whether they work or not. Since judge is still recalculating statistics, there's no way I can check it. If you notice any bug in any of the 4 implemented modes, please report it.

About blinking feature, I think it doesn't worth. And about ordering submissions...that's something that can be done in the new system. We've spent too much time on this already :-)

Next to solve script

Post by avm »

My alternative suggestion (request for next to solve script):
It will be good, if user can see his list unsolved (both tried and not tried) problem sorted by problem difficulty. IMHO, the most easiest criterion of problem difficulty is number of users who solved it. Of course, this list must be shown part by part like in statusjudge.php. My guess that 90% of users will be use list of Top-25 easiest unsolved problems.
Possible columns are problem id,name (with link to problem statement), does problem has checker, number of users solved problem, number of users tried to solve problem.

Here we have a mode #5 :P I'm sure most of the users would use it, but now I have a lot of tasks to do (most of them concerning PE, wrong I/O, special corrector programs and live archive) and that I didn't do because of this statistics update problem. That means that I won't implement it in the near future, say 2 days, but I might implement it later, say 1 month. Thanks anyway for the suggestion!

I'm not sure about this, but some kind of difficulty index will be available in the new system, regarding the number of AC, the AC rate, the number of users who solved the problem and the rate of users who solved the problem.

Nice, I think I like this new author statistics page. Thanks!!

I can't see the old ranklist anymore (I know, it's out dated)..
http://acm.uva.es/problemset/authorsran ... 100:1:1.00

Will there be a new rank list sometime ?

Mode #6 (Contest statistics)

Post by avm »

Carlos, I undestand that you have a lot of work, buy I have one more question : How works rankfinal.php?
Does it is possible restore user id from online contests monitors?
If it is possible there is suggestion for mode #6:
History of participation of given user in UVA online contests.
Rows of table : contest.
Possible columns are: Contest id, Date, Contest name, Number of solved problems by user, by winner, by all participants, total problems, user place, number of teams.

It's not a bad idea, but I think that's not a mode #6, but another php script. It doesn't use the same tables or data...so I think we won't implement it now.

I'm working on it.....first I want to make sure statistics are ok (they are obviously not ok...I've found some strange bugs).

rankfinal is probably the "all teams" rank after a contest?

I think I asked this somewhere but missed the answer - If I want to find out what the results are of a contest that took place, say, 2 months ago, how do I do it? I guess I can go to the last contest and then change URL until I get the right contest, but that is a bit... silly?

It doesn't use the same tables or data...so I think we won't implement it now.
I don't ask implement it now, I ask only about posibility restore user id from monitor.
I would like to try implement rating calculation for UVA online contests.

Ehm....you can also:

http://acm.uva.es/contest/
then click "past contests"

There you'll find the ranking of every single contest. The direct link for each problem is:
http://acm.uva.es/contest/rankfinal.php ... OF_PROBLEM

(sorry about that, I looked for rankfinal.php in the 24-hours judge, so I couldn't find it :P)

Btw, I think I have to stop the judge for another 3 hours. There were two bugs: one minor bug considering SE's....and one big bug. The number of submissions for each user for each problem (ie, the "times submitted" field) wasn't correctly calculated. I've solved the mistake but we have to rebuild statistics. My fault, it worked with 2000 first submissions, I though it would work with 5.3M.

I can't believe I missed that :)

Actually - I remember clicking on "running contest" and trying to get the rank list of the last contest there and it would just give a blank list, which stumped me.

This is a personal preference - I really dislike frames. Maybe someone should run a poll and see if you guys should get rid of them. Well, someone should redo the main page as well, it has too much stuff on it.

In the "Compact statistics" plz remove "List of not-tried problems" because it's long list and not useful :( and add colors ;)
