Joachim Wulff has got 2000 problems solved!!!

Post by etreal »

Congratulations to little joey!! That's an incredible mark! :D

I'm not a great problem solver, so by calculating my ratio (problems solved / time_registered_in_uva) , i believe i will take about 10 years to reach this mark...

But life is non-linear, you know...

And you, how much time you think you will take to reach little joey's mark? :)

Thanks guys!

It took me about 5 years, so if any rich kid is interested: I sell the whole package for $500,000.00. Looks like a fair salary :)
The biggest problem with most problems is not how to solve the problem, but how to not solve what is not the problem.

And when you consider that along with those 2000 problems he also sets problems, deletes more spam threads everyday than he solves problems, that is amazing. And the life story of Joachim Wulff will sound like a fairy tale, I hope one day he will tell everyone :).

I'm a bit late, but...

Congratulations Joachim! 2000 solved problems is a huge accomplishment. Even going for the 2000 easiest problems would mean solving a lot of incredibly hard ones.

I'm 60% towards the same amount, but in order to reach 2000 I would probably need another year or two as unemployed (that is how I managed to find time to solve so many problems a few years ago in the first place). I think I'll pass your $500.000 offer, it's cheaper for me to take a sabbatical year in order to solve 770 more. :)

And if the remaining problems are too hard, I'll just create new datasets for some easy problems that can't be submitted yet. :D

Congratulations little joey!! You're really a great solver!

And yes, I like the tasks you set very much, especially Ignoring Digits (though I can't find time to attempt all your tasks ).

Hehe, not quite, although I might hope to be a professor one day. I'm currently a student.

I thought "sabbatical year" was the usual phrase for taking a year off from work, regardless of profession, although I guess it isn't too common in most companies.
