The new leader is coming........

Post by .. » Thu May 22, 2003 7:10 am

From the author ranklist, you can see that Anton Maydell is going to pass Adrian to be the new leader. Congratulation to Anton!

I think that it is a great job to be a leader of the judge, even just for one day only. I have a suggestion, let's have a record about the leader and how long he occupies the leader position. This will let all the people know that there were many great problem solvers here, for example, Ivan, Big Fat Hairy Cat, Rujia Liu, etc. :D

It definitely takes great dedication to be able to solve that many problems. Congratulations ...

Congrats to Anton! :D

Reuber Guerra Duarte was first for a long time a couple of years ago. And AFAIR Shahriar Manzoor was first before him (when I've joined at Feb 1999). Also Dmitry Lyubshin was first for several monthes.

This proves that programming in Pascal is in no way inferior to programming in C

I am one of the old men out here. When I joined (In second half of 98 ) Rezaul Alam Chowdhury was the champion. Before him it was Andreas Bj

Oh! I can't forget Dmitry Lyubshin - The leader I first met as a great great helper! :D

He is not a member of this board, besides he has no homepage. So, I think I should (it's my duty :) to ) infrom you all about him :

From his own writing:
I am 25, and programming is not my main area of interest.
I had a huge olympiad history (International Physics Olympiad (Beijing)
International Comp. for University students in mathematics (Plovdiv),
Russian student olympiad in theoretical mechanics, ACM programming
semifinals... -- more than 60 events, if preliminaries are counted) -- but
I moved the focus to research at least. I have some results in graph
theory, currently I am working on a problem from 2D superconductivity,
some work in the field of linear algebra is planned for nearest future. I
had a short experience of working as a programmer, but that seemed a bit
boring to me.
Perhaps I will post some solutions on Valladolid some time, but keeping
oneself up-to-date with that site requires constant work, which I cannot
find time for.
One thing I don't understand, Anton and Dmitry are of same type, no homepage no familier face (PIC!) :(

But, congratulation ANTON, not only for being 1st here but you were also in the top section of ranklist!

don't forget Adrian Kuegel, he was the leader for about 3 years in the time I started with the judge (2000-2003). It's not a bad idea, maybe we'll implement it.....some day :-D
