10217 - A Dinner with Schwarzenegger

I do not know how this code can ever generate wrong answer. I have written the code assuming that each person's birthdate is also compared with the ticket-seller's birthdate, but the program genrates just the right numbers with the test cases, and it fails if I assume anything else. Any help? [cpp] ...

The C++ toupper

Why does the toupper function in the C++ stdlib.h seem to be not working on the judge? I am using teh VC++, and it is working fine with me.

I actually faced this situation three consecutive times till now, which makes me wonder if there is a solution, as I am nearly never able to enter a contest from the beginning till the end. I actually had tried the program

I have tried the program on the given test sample, once using keyboard for input, then indirecting the input from a file, and the answer was correct in the two times. Here is the code: #include <fstream.h> #include <math.h> int levels(int num, int& span) { int n=0; bool finished = false; while(!fini...

Time Limit Exceeded (107)

I solved the problem right, but I had time limit exceeded error. I do not see how I could get such an error (except if the number of worker cats is a prime number).
