Re: portability
Is .NET portable? C# is a true standard (by ECMA) and CIL (equivalent to bytecode in Java) is too. It means that everyone can use them - not as Java which you know Sun is in judgements with Microsoft for it. So it is well known the syntax for C# and how to generate and interpretate CIL. There are a...

The only way to stop that behaviour would be to develop a sand box like Java does. You can write in assembly because there a lot of ways to do it in your sourcecode and we cannot dettect all of them. We've tried to make our system reliable but we cannot foresee all the posibilities. But this system ...

I also agree with suman. Submit-o-matic is a very nice page. But you don't give us any information about the type of error of the problem. If it is compile error we can't understand why it happens. You can give a link for this. Some new comers face problems with restricted functions. If anyone gets...

My opinion: it depends on the kind of programs you're going to develop. For example - in Windows -, for those horrible programs to make bills and manage customers, VB/Delphi. System utilities can be done using Delphi or VC. In Linux I would say that C/C++ are almost the only option, because Kylix is...

SUBMIT-O-MATIC V6.0
I have upgraded Submit-o-matic, so it now includes file uploading (yes, I know: "at last!"). I hope it works fine - I have tested it and I think it does. If you find any trouble, you can use old version (there's a link in the new submit-o-matic) but please, tell us what is wrong so we can ...

Re: confirmation
Pascal is an old language. I was told it's not really efficient but it's accepted by the OJ cause it's still very taught. Pascal is still with us because these kinds of problems can be solved with it, and more important, I use it :P. And since Borland is making a very good compiler called Delphi / ...
