Re: a way to save the judge

hi
i think that one good way to save the judge would be to not accept from a contestant a re submit untilll the original submit for that problem is judged completely.
will this help

That violates the ICPC rule -- say you are the 100th to submit A, and then you find a mistake but have to wait ...

Oh, thank you, it's so nice of you :)

Actually I was referring to the previous on-line contest here. I had been waiting for centuries just to get a CE :(

At the mean time, our school network got stucked so our acm.zju.edu.cn can only be visited from inside the campus, not from outside :( Just ...

but the above list of checkings takes no time of cpu ...

actually one suggestion given by the administrator of acm.zju.edu.cn is that your monitoring program might have costed too much and there might be too many procedures running simutaneously. It's only a guess :P

Just curious: what scheduling algorithm are you using on UVA-OJ?

Last contest there were 2000 submissions. Given 5 hours, that is, 18000 seconds, there should be approximately 9 seconds for each run. But a lot of them finished in less than a second.... how could the system be possibly that slow?

Oh :P

I got a personal reply in 15 minutes from Shahriar -- so I was quite lucky. Thanks to Shahriar~ :D

Just find the judging speed untolerable...why is it soooo slow?

Next time you can send e-mail to clarify@acm.uva.es and Shahriar will reply to you promptly.

I just wonder why it takes so long to compile -- hasn't UVA changed her server? I don't think 200 teams can slow down the procedure that much since we (http://acm.zju.edu.cn/) have hosted on-line contests ...
