Yeah,it's a good question.I think sometimes it got importance.Although it is not so necessary.

There are lots of reference book and website you can find.But every book is difficult to collect , so you can find site using seach engine.I am also benefited using this.And similarly I face many project,reference on C/C++ in the site.

So it's totally ups to you.

You cannot say that java is horribly slow.It depend on which situation which language demand.you say that using string on java it passes whole string. So you clearly know about that ...

Yah,that's good.But using Java is not only easy to handle string but also it have many distinct feature which all are capable for any side of the program.

Although most of the java user show the example of string handling but I think it have prosprective areas.

I think this two language is different on their purpose.So it should not so important that which one is fast.

But onething that most of the programmer in acm use C++,so they consider that c++ is faster.

I am not sure which one is faster between c++ and java.Is you....
