Take a recursive approach. Approach the problem from backwards (at least that is what I did).

An excellent suggestion. It will be great if all the teams (even those participating after the initial 6 hours) are given exactly 6 hours from the time they start.

Java in World Finals 2004

Can any of you please enlighten me regarding the Java environment that will be available in WF 2004(Prague) ? Will we be able to use features that are standard in Java but not supported by the valladolid OJ - such as BigInteger?

No special technique is required. Just check out all possible options. No need of recursion.

As I know, one of the direction of rejudge is "don't let someone get 0.00 runtime". My personal opinion is that preventing 0.000 runtime should never be the aim of change of problem statement. The two valid causes that I can think of are (there might be other ones too - but not the above one) - 1. ...

You don't need to go full length of the string. Going upto half the length of the string would be enough :). Doing swap using XOR operation would make it even faster.....though that hardly matters.

It seems that the number of discussions related specifically to Bangladesh and Bangladeshi programmers in this board have been a bit too much. This is an international board and we all should uphold that spirit. I have rarely seen programmers from other countries bringing their country or any local ...

Hi Subeen,

For the input
6
3 1 2 5 6 4

We can think of the sequence

3 2 1 6 5 4 (which is mirror image of 4 5 6 1 2 3=> 1 2 3 4 5 6)

Just two swaps ( 2<->1 , 5<->6) are needed.

Hope it helps.

Hi, When only t is given, there is no need to assume that r1 = r2. You can still get the area of gray area for any values of r1 and r2, provided you know t. Let us consider the right angle triangle that half of the chord t forms with the center of the largest circle. For that right angle triangle, (...

Dear Shahriar Bhai, I think there should be a limit to the size of content that one can post to this board. There may be such a provision that if one intends to post a message larger than the defined limit then he will have to first submit it to the people controlling the board, like you or fnpc. On...

Mr. Ronty_BD , please be careful in posting messages in this board. It is an international board and I think we should all be careful in not doing anything that damages the image of our country.
